COURSES

We began our series Before You Go: Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking and Editing for Social Scientists in March of 2006 and have now completed over 35 courses and workshops. We have embraced students from many university departments and participants from outside academia, even though our methods are those from an anthropological perspective. With the backing of the Royal Anthropological Institute, OADF has now established itself in providing technical skills in cameras and editing for students with research agendas, as well as for students with an interest in media communication.

OADF is now offering courses and workshops at Oxford University Computing Services and St. Clare's in Oxford, as well as Imperial College, London. Now with over 350 alumni, we understand the needs of our academic associates, and we hope to have raised the awareness of the medium of film as a tool for research.

OADF is the corporate sponsor for the Oxford Ethnographic Film Society (OEFS), which operates in association with Oxford University's Pitt-Rivers Museum.
