INDIGENOUS FILMMAKING

Our company was founded on the basis of a mission by an anthropologist to bring technical skills to the social scientist in order to give a voice to people who might not necessarily be heard in the main stream media. Ethnographic filmmaking is a vital component of media awareness, which is always relevant to society. We seek to fund and produce films with and for indigenous communities. As the official outreach training scheme for the Royal Anthropological Society (RAI) we are already in contact with many experts on cultures worldwide. We believe that anthropological awareness is an education into how other people see and live in the world. This is an education that many would embrace if it were more accessible to the popular audience. OADF is eager to participate as consultants in film and anthropology, and give technical support to productions with indigenous communities to help bring their vision of the world to the screen.

We are presently seeking EU funding for projects to promote projects presented to us at a workshop we conducted in Sibiu, Romania in September 2007.
