TRAINING VIDEOS FOR SCHOOLS
The Department of Education, University of Oxford
Our remit in this case was to produce a short video project involving the use of dance as visual material to teach mathematical transformations in classroom situations. We filmed the dancers, edited the material and produced a DVD. It was important that we consult closely with the academics involved in this project to co-create a useful piece of visual material that could be used in various contexts by researchers and teachers.
OADF wants to express their interest in multi-platform presentation of visual material for better pedagogical interaction. We acknowledge the need for interactive media to support classroom teaching and look to provide teaching materials linked to the Video Lessons. We also provide possibilities for pod-casting aural information and out-takes of rushes to show behind-the-scene activities to demonstrate the process of filmmaking. We recognise that children learn in different ways and we have our educational expert on hand to assist in the construction and assessment of material in order to achieve a multi-layered, multi-referential and cross-disciplinary product accessible to all.
